Book Review: “The Golfers Mind”, Bob Rotella

Golf aficionados will all be familiar with Dr Bob and his words on the golfers mind and the work to be done to be positive on the course.

Thus book is one of the first in his series of books and can best be described as an instant “how to” in regards the mental side of the game. The chapters are quick and easy to digest snapshots of routines and mindsets for which many golfers will be cognisant, but don’t actually put into practice.

You will recognise yourself on all the pages and identify with the problems Bob spells out, which have afflicted great golfers down the years. The solutions and the drills make perfect sense and they are simply set out in a way that everyone can understand what they need to do.

In regards my journey I don’t honestly believe it was the sort of book that helps discover the inner person and the inner game, but it does give great tips on how to help with your search for this. I see the book essentially as a reminder text, a mental checklist if you like; the sort of book I should pick up once in a while to remind me what it is I’ve got to remember to do on the course.

For that alone, I recommend this book.
